Description

In Shawn Kuruneru’s two-volume psycho-noir comic, Burn Man, Moyasu is tormented by the apparent suicide of his partner, Mizu. When he performs a burn ritual, his world is sucked into a whirlwind of terror. He is hunted and haunted by strange visions, distant memories, and ancient stories.

It’s unclear what is real and what is a dream in this story of loss and mourning. Mood and emotion are just as important as the narrative and mystery in Burn Man. Shawn’s narrative jumps between noir, horror, and mythology, while his art keeps us off-balance and turning the page!
