In The Complete Ouija Interviews, Sarah Becan documents actual interviews conducted through the mysterious Ouija Board. The interviews were collected on visits to Sarah’s brother on Nantucket Island, which one ghost asserts is a hotbed for spirit activity because the island is “old.”
The drawings for the Ouija Interviews are cute, and the conversation can be very humorous even when the subject matter is dark. But this book shouldn’t be mistaken as a book for kids. A lot of the subject matter is heavy, and there is a lot of talk about sex and brutal murders.
The interviews are brief but revealing. It takes some effort to not read them in a few minutes, so I encourage pacing yourself. Invite some friends over on a stormy night, and perform some candle-lit readings of these comics. Perhaps as an opening act before you dust your own Ouija board, to commune with the other side.
