Description

Dr. Molly Nonnar, and her philanthropist husband Hank, are entering the twilight of their life. When they are offered to be the first human subjects in an experimental fountain-of-youth process that will clean away their genetic imperfections and allow them to live a second life in a superior form, they jump at the chance. But the process is flawed, and the result are two versions of the couple, both flawed in their own ways, and somehow dependent on each other.

Ezra Claytan Daniels creates complex and unsettling science fiction with Upgrade Soul. His slow and patient story telling, which jumps around in time and perspective is stunning, and will keep you guessing and thinking throughout the story. Are the newer versions of Hank and Molly better? Worse? Are they still Molly and Hank? What are the true motivations of the director of the project, Dr. Kallose, and why is he hiding his sister, Lina?
