Description

After tragedy strikes, lines are drawn, and identities are claimed in the third and final volume of Ezra Claytan Daniels’ Upgrade Soul series. The feeble Hank feels more alone than ever, his wife Molly has fallen into a coma. Hank’s clone, Henry, and Dr. Kallose’s sister, Lina have grown close, and as things begin to unravel, it is unclear who is a friend, or who is in control of the situation.

This final chapter is suspenseful and painful to read as characters you have grown to love fall victim to the untenable situation. But Ezra’s storytelling is only peppered with action, as the deep philosophical and intellectual problems posed by the series continue to take center-stage. Which of the Nonnars are the real Nonnars? What are Dr. Kallose and Lina’s intentions? What do we lose in our strive for perfection?
