Isabella Rotman’s short poem, Fireworks simultaneously evokes feelings of comfort, love, pain and anger. The narrator wishes to inflict the same sort of devastating violence she feels victim to.
In order to read Fireworks, you must damage the elegantly screen-printed envelope in which it comes. Isabella has also left an object in the envelope which can be seen as a weapon or a scar of the events the comic is in reaction to. This beautiful comic deserves multiple readings.
