On The Inside by Ashley Robin Franklin is a scary ghost story perfect for Halloween! Logan is a teenage jerk, and spending Halloween with his younger sisters and their friend is the last thing he wants to do. He’d rather be scaring them, or causing mischief with his equally insensitive friend, Trevor. But when Logan finds a small bone wrapped in an old rag under his house, things get gross and gruesome fast for the bullies.

This ghost story illustrates how wonderfully disgusting comics can get. Ashley does not hold back on the creepy bugs and slimy blood that ooze from any corner or hole available in the story. Ashley brutally tortures Logan and his fellow bully with an unsympathetic ferocity that we can enjoy without remorse because it’s Halloween, and it’s just a comic…right?
