Clara can lift objects with her mind, but often has “episodes” in which she loses control, and she herself levitates, and then blacks-out. She is taken to a facility to treat her affliction, but Clara quickly gets a bad feeling about the whole situation.

The second issue of Penina Gal’s Fire Messenger series jumps right into a world that was only talked about in the first, but is this school really training children in magic? We meet several staff members at the school, including the intimidating, Mr. Zachariah, and the friendly director, Mr. Sen.

We learn a lot, but also develop more questions, and see a hint as to how the story of Clara connects to that of Aiden and Nik from the first issue.
