Description
Edited by Josh Kramer, the Cartoon Picayune collects outstanding comics journalism, each issue revolving around a particular theme. Every person depicted in these comics are real, and every word balloon is a direct quote.
This issue’s theme is “Small Worlds,” and in four short comics, it investigates:
• the fragile ecosystem of the sea’s coral reefs, how a microscopic symbiotic relationship that keeps them thriving is being threatened by global warming, and how a small group of marine biologists might be able to save it;
•how the nation’s furry community (folks who enjoy dressing up as anthropomorphic animals) rallied around a struggling sandwich shop;
•the epic fantasy created by the mind of Henry Darger, a reclusive outsider artist;
•and how the famous actor, Edwin Booth saved the life of Abraham Lincoln’s son, Robert Todd a few years
before his brother, John Wilkes assassinated the President.
