Description

Gordita: Built Like This is an autobiographical high school story by Daisy Ruiz. Unpopular and creative, Daisy—nicknamed Gordita—is an outcast, and finds solace in drawing, writing fan fiction, and the friendship with fellow outcasts, Treasure, Marie, and Cassandra. Finding it hard to ignore bullies in school, and pressure from her family, Gordita seeks support from her friends and a sympathetic councilor.

Beautifully drawn, and full of emotional peaks and valleys, Daisy’s comic tells a valuable tale of empowerment and friendship!
