Marian Runk went on a Royal Caribbean cruise along the coast of Greece. Marian goes to bars alone, often to listen to (and often perform) live music from singer-song writers. Marian is also a birder. Beaches, Bars, and Birds collects sketches from these activities in a smartly designed zine.

Marian’s brushwork swings between impression and precision in these drawings. Sometimes it feels like Marian was trying to catch a bather on the cruise before they walked away. Sometimes is feels like she spent hours observing and recording a tiny village on an island. This is a fun look into moments in Marian’s life.
