A difficult year, dreams of wrestling.
Would’ve Been Could’ve Been Should’ve Been Never Was and Never Ever Will Be chronicles the year after Yewon Kwon graduated from undergrad. It’s not a fun year. Yewon is dealing with depression, and perhaps an unspecified physical illness as well. Denial, rage, and anxiety come in waves.
Along with short design-oriented comic vignettes, Yewon includes digital collages, and glowing photographs that pull us in and out of their narratives. Many of the images can be interpreted as either whimsical or cynical, but no matter how read it, Yewon’s imagery is energetic and captivating!
