Description
Apartment by the Sea by Sarah Shaw is a graphic novella about two friends from college reconnecting at a time when they are both feeling a bit lost in their lives. Claire is moving, her longtime friend Jodie comes to visit. In the time since college their interests have drifted apart, and it’s tough for them to reconnect.
Sarah captures the feeling of lost connection through naturalistic dialogue and literary narration, and leaves enough space in the narrative and conclusion for us to fill in our own perspective in this all-too-common interaction.
