Description

This Must be the Place is another episode in Giles Crawford’s non-serialized series, NewOldRare, following the relationship of punk lovers, Neil and Louis in the 90’s. This issue finds Neil days before his phalloplasty surgery, and his anxiety around it is keeping him awake. He’s simultaneously making a mix tape to listen to when he wakes up from surgery, and using up all his stickers just in case he doesn’t wake up.

Likewise, Giles’ comic is comforting with warm colors, and late night snuggling, while confronting the risk of death while undergoing surgery. This is one of the series’ most intense and effecting vignettes to date!
