The 25th International Latino Book Awards were presented on Saturday, October 21st by Empowering Latino Futures at Los Angeles City College. Among the winners was Dave Ortega’s Días de Consuelo, which won the Silver Medal for Best Young Adult Nonfiction Book.
This honor adds to previous recognition of Dave’s book, including being named an Overfloweth Title for the Virginia Library Association’s Graphic Novel Diversity Award, and a Finalist for the Foreword INDIES Graphic Novel of the Year Award.
We’re thrilled Días de Consuelo is being recognized as a powerful resource for young adults. For further discussion, readers, parents, and educators can download a Study Guide designed by the book’s editor Dr. Theresa Rojas for free from our website.
