Description

In An Army of Lovers Will Be Beaten by Bernie McGovern, we meet a peaceful blue race that has been fooled by a power-hungry baron to make war against a constellation of stars. Our main character, Lt. Buckley, is a war hero who haphazardly killed one of the star of the constellation, and is given a week’s vacation to the sea-side port of Catalpa. Instead of escaping the war, Buckley finds himself surrounded by those scarred by violence and trauma.

In this third volume, Turtledove confronts the murderous MP, Lichi and the battle leaves Lichi scarred, and Turtledove ready for a revelatory romp with his love, Nancy. This is great news for the llama, and Oakley the dog who have been in search for some good smutty action. Their collected love rearranges Turtledove’s disfigured face. Meanwhile, Buckley, the hermit Landfrey and the ever-growing mouse, Pebbles set in motion a plan to use theater to shake the masses from their complacent acceptance of the war against the stars, while Beverly is determined to end the war on her own terms by assassinating the Baron!
