Description
Between the pages of Homecore, Molar illustrates a childhood growing up in China’s unsanctioned Evangelical community—a disorienting experience that sometimes seemed “too intersectional to be true”. In an underground community that moved discreetly between temporary worship spaces, communicated through encrypted messaging apps, and occasionally infiltrated the narrator’s suburbian childhood that sometimes felt strangely…white?-growing up might be just disorienting enough to make sense of through a comic.
Molar dives deep into feelings but keeps them slightly at arm’s length in this richly observant, hilariously narrated comic-one that makes a familiar childhood uncanny through the wry lens of retrospect.
