Description

In MariNaomi’s memoir, I Thought You Loved Me, she pours over journal entries, letters, meticulously kept calendars, and friend’s recollections to understand how the relationship with her best friend fell apart. Mari’s friendship with Jodie evolved during her teens and 20’s, through tumultuous life changes and difficult romances from acquaintances, to best friends, to a sudden ghosting. Mari is determined to get to the bottom of what happened.

Mari’s deep dive into how fragmented and unreliable memory can be is beautifully reflected through a story told on scraps of paper, short comics, a photo-collage.
