Description
In the opening pages of Miss Sequential’s Wild Kingdom, Marissa Falco explains she doesn’t have a lot of experience out in nature. So when she moved out to California a few years back and started getting invited on weekend trips into the wilderness by friends, this was a brand new experience for her. In this zine, Marissa recalls some of her trips away from city living, both the awe inspiring sites, and some challenging experiences. Threaded through all of her short essays is a loving connection to friends and a blossoming connection to nature!
Marissa seamlessly combines images and words in her zines, and Miss Sequential’s Wild Kingdom is packed to the edge of the page with fun illustrations, enjoyable recollections, and found imagery that will keep you turning the page! Marissa’s openness to new experiences are reflected in her writing but also in the way she’s crafted the zine, which includes a fold-out center page, bound inserts, and a screen printed cover!
