Description

In Mourning Veil, Fanfi explores the complexity of grief as an unresolvable and constantly changing puzzle. Particularly reflecting on the death of his father, though connecting it to other losses, Fanfi dives into a myriad of emotions and metaphors related to what impact loss has on one’s life.

Fanfi uses precise drawings, typography, patterns, and photo collage to allow the comic’s narrative to exist on several planes at once. The Mourning Veil is at once highly personal and powerfully universal in its scope.
