Description
To Black Girl With Love is a reimagining of an earlier comic by Lawrence Lindell, titled From Black Boy With Love. Both comics present Black boys expressing love for Black girls. Simultaneously speaking to one Black girl and every Black girl, each Black boy speaks in unique and universal terms.
The premise is simple and powerful: pure love and celebration of Black girls.
Lawrence’s words fight against 400 years of destructive racist and sexist ideas about Black womanhood and girlhood that run rampant through American culture. The presentation of the words through boys reclaims the childhood and innocence that white supremacy steals from Black kids.
A collection of beautiful truths for us to return to often.
