Description
When the rain starts falling in Henry Uhrik’s Boo Boo Kah Noo, it does not stop! Ja and Nu soon find their city is flooding, and they must abandon their home on a small yellow raft. Paddling through the rain, they soon begin to collect an odd assortment of strangers who add chaos to their tiny little boat.
Drawn in thick playful lines, and bold colors, the thing that stands out the most in Henry’s comic is the dialogue. Told entirely through single-syllable sounds, each character has a single sound they make, which helps define their personality as well. As fantastic a story as this is, readers can not shake the timeliness of a group of residents losing their homes due to severe weather from climate change.
