Description
Darya Foroohar’s The Hammer is a complex minicomic about hunger, obsessive thoughts, and relationships. Darya struggles with a growing hammering inside of her head, and when a fellow student asks her out on a date, her assumptions about his intentions are cynical. But they’re entirely understandable based on all the input she’s received from the world on how to look, how to think, and how to act.
Darya uses repetition to great effect in this comic. Phrases and panels return again and again and again like the hammering in her head. So much is packed into this short comic!
