This is Columbus!!! Not Wherever the %#@& You/re From by CM Campbell was created in response to several Columbus, OH staples shutting down in 2023. Mourning the loss of the Vanderelli Room in Franklinton, many locals began sharing stories of the countless cool places that have been lost to time. Inspired by these tales, CM sought to share some of his favorites.

Through personal narratives, interviews, and comics, CM explores spaces he never saw. CM mixes nostalgia and legend with a sense of urgency. This zine captures Columbus’ deep history of cool, while also holding hope that we continue to celebrate what truly makes a city great—the people who stumble around in it.

This project was made with support from the Ohio State University Print Department. Originally released as a risograph-printed book, this digital edition offers a more accessible version of the same message: people over property.
