Piecemeal No. 4 mixes autobiographical comics about Nate Beaty’s health with fantastical comics about his cat, Carl.

Nate’s stories about his health range from strange skin growths, to the time he nearly choked to death, to when he thought he had [and in fact did have] appendicitis! Like a lot of run-ins with medicine, Nate notices all the weird small details that make doctor’s visits surreal.

Nate’s stories about his cat are very strange if you don’t have a cat, and are naturally hilarious if you love your cat as much as Nate loves Carl.
