Relax is my favorite Dina Kelberman comic. Primarily published in an alternative news weekly in Baltimore, a lot of Dina’s work is built as tiny vingettes, and while this comic is only 10 pages of comics, it a solid little nugget of comics.
Dina -like most of us- is stressed out, and she’s realized she has to do something about it. She doesn’t explain exactly how her anxiety manifests itself, but the comic chronicles her attempts to relax, and her fears that this improvement may change her entire way of life -how she acts, how she feels about herself, and how others view her- for the worse.
Dina’s non-traditional comics style makes the comic read like a natural flow of thought, as if we are deep inside Dina’s mind. It’s has a very intimate feel to it. Really great.
