Description
Marian Runk’s comics are often very poetic on their own, so it’s not a big surprise that as a song-writer, Marian also writes poetry. Sometimes I Pay Attention collects drawings, comics, and written poetry by Marian over the past 17 years. Marians soft pencil-style with its powerful calm mood fits perfectly with well-crafted poetry.
This zine starts with a shocking collection of illustrations based on nightmares and bad dreams Marian has had, which are then followed by a few lighthearted comics. Marian then ruminates, through poems and illustrations, both the loss and celebration of faith. A centerfold of a regal chipmunk atop a tree ties the zine together (actually it’s the book thread).
