Description
Marian Runk welcomes us back to the Magic Hedge! In this second issue, her birding takes a supportive role to meditations on loss. A walk through the neighborhood in which she grew up evokes memories of lost friendships. As friends disappear, either through families moving, or when mentors pass away from “long illnesses,” Marian -already inclined toward nature, finds her safest friends are ancient evergreen trees. The constants in Marian’s life: nature, her parents act as anchors for her to weather storms of loss.
Drawn in lush pencils, with color highlights, Marian makes it very easy to get lost in her world.
