Coco Picard is a Chicago-based artist, writer and curator. Recent comics can be found in Tender Journal, Projecttile, Diner Journal, Everyday Genius and Bicycle Review. She has contributed multiple graphic adaptations to the The Graphic Canon project (Seven Stories Press, 2012/13/15) and continues to work on an on-going series, The Chronicles of Fortune.
Coco strikes an amazing balance between abstract and goofy story telling, using tropes in comics and art, and turning them on their heads. Coco’s comics are simultaneously humorous, cerebral, mystical and heartfelt. Her plots are often nonlinear and her drawing style is idiosyncratic. Coco is a great and unique voice in comics.
