Description
In the early spring, as life returned to the cold streets of Chicago, Marian Runk spent her time documenting the animals she discovered in the residential streets of her neighborhood.
But she didn’t draw the stray cats, rabbits, raccoons, mice, rats, or possums who wander through the back-yards of Avondale. Instead, Marian made portraits of the lawn ornaments that peppered the front-yards. Flamingos on sticks, and ceramic squirrels frozen in time. The drawings are beautiful and whimsical, and as a bonus, Marian -an avid birder- provides a guide of the plastic birds in the back!
